I began writing poetry quite young, all throughout school and a
little while after, mostly about Lost Love, Heartaches, and sadness I
guess you would say. Then I never wrote another poem until I had to
endure my biggest heartache ever. The news that my Aunt had been killed
by a drunk driver and what life-altering injuries her family were faced with.
Leaving behind her Loving husband and their 3 young boys, that week I felt
I needed to write about the grief I felt, and my heart was mostly with the boys
so the poem is entitled "My Mommy, My Angel"
The rest on this page were also in Memory of Barb...

"My Mommy, My Angel"
My Mommy had to go away,
an Angel said she has a playdate with God today
Now She's in Heaven watching over me,
She's smiling and laughing as I would believe
Someday She'll hold me again,
and tell me what a good boy I have been
I started saving all my kisses and hugs,
so when I see her again She knows She was loved
My Mommy is now my Angel you see,
I am very lucky to have her watching over me
She's the sun every morning at light,
and She guides my dreams every night
Not a day will go by that I won't miss her,
and want her here to comfort me when I cry
But I'll know she is always here in my heart,
and now I can watch her fly...

I WISH
The days seem to go by one by one
but nothings changed, it's can't be undone
At times I think you're still right here
somehow I can always feel you near
I meant to tell you so many things
now I guess you'll see all my dreams
I wish I could have thanked you
for all that you had done
I wish I could have hugged you
and let you hold my son
Though he'll never know you like I do
I will be sure to tell him all about you
How much you had loved and cared for him
even though he was only days old then
All the things you had wanted to do
It seems so unfair you weren't given the chance to
You will always be with me where ever I go
but until then there's something I want you to know
I'll never forget the last few moments we shared,
and I could never forget how much you cared
You were my Aunt but were more like a sis
God help me, I wish I could give you a big kiss
No matter how hard I try
I just can't say goodbye
In my heart It feels so lonely,
It's hard not to think "If only"
Slowly I will live again beyond the memories
though the closest to my heart are all I seem to see

Yesterdays, Today,
and Tomorrows
I still remember all the days we had,
The Good times and the bad
I try to remember why you had to go,
There are days I just can't believe it's so
Someone please tell me it's just a dream,
that today really isn't what it seems
Tomorrow seems so far away,
and we just didn't have enough yesterdays
Everyday I watch the weather change,
and I try not to let myself feel the pain
I try to remind myself how happy you are,
and that you really haven't gone so far
God told me where to find you,
anytime I shall need you
Your memory will never fade,
this is a promise I have made
I will be strong one day again,
for I know I will see you someday and then,
Thoughts of that glorious day,
with me shall always stay
Until that time, I will look for you in the sky...
